About Us:
MASI Sports Academy has spent 12+ years building youth leadership and sports performance programs across the DMV. We’re not just a sports program —we teach character, ownership, and responsibility through basketball, flag football, soccer, and performance training, using a proven, structured curriculum.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead sessions for students elementary/middle school students using our Coach Guide — every drill, rep, and discussion topic is already scripted for you.
- Run daily warm-ups, skill development, and small-sided games/competition.
- Facilitate short character and stewardship discussions with students.
- Track student attendance on a simple student checklist.
- Create a positive, structured, high-energy environment every session.
What You Don’t Need:
- No coaching certification or elite playing background required.
- Our curriculum is built so a responsible, engaged adult can run a high-quality session without prior training experience — the system does the heavy lifting.
- No prior classroom/teaching experience required, though it’s a plus.
What You Do Need:
- Must be 18+ and pass a background check/clearance for the relevant county (PGCPS, MCPS, and/or BCPS) — we’ll guide you through this process.
- Comfortable being active and on your feet for multi-hour sessions.
- Reliable, on time, and able to commit to a full season once started.
- Genuine enjoyment working with elementary and middle school student.
- Foundational sports familiarity in at least one of: basketball, flag football, or soccer.
Hourly Rate: Coach ($20-25/hr)
Schedule: After School hours (Tuesdays Thursdays, between 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM or district-specific afterschool hours]
