About MASI Sports Academy:
MASI Sports Academy is a Christian youth sports and leadership development organization. We run after-school programs through Community Schools partnerships with Baltimore County. We're hiring multi-sport coaches for our Baltimore County school
sites.
The Role:
You'll lead after-school sports sessions for students at a Baltimore County public school. Sessions run twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, for 90 minutes between 3:00 and 5:30 PM during the school semester.
This is a multi-sport program. Over the semester, students may play soccer, flag football, handball, and other team sports and games. You do need a working knowledge of several, and the confidence to teach the basics of each. Sessions follow MASI's own curricula, including our Soccer and Flag Football Playbooks, built on the S.O.A.R. framework. Each session pairs sport fundamentals with a short leadership lesson, so you'll have a clear plan for every session.
What you'll do:
- Lead structured sessions from MASI curricula: warm-up, skill work, games, and a closing leadership moment.
- Teach the rules, basic skills, and teamwork of several different sports.
- Adjust activities so students of all skill levels and interests stay involved.
- Set a positive, respectful team culture and model good sportsmanship.
- Supervise students safely, including arrival and dismissal, following school and MASI protocols.
- Set up and put away equipment for each sport.
- Take attendance daily.
- Share progress with site staff and families when needed.
What we're looking for:
Required:
- Playing or coaching experience in at least two team sports, at any level (rec, club, school, college, or adult league).
- Comfort teaching the basics of sports outside your strongest one/
- Experience working with children or teens, such as coaching, camps, mentoring, tutoring, PE, orteaching.
- Consistent availability on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for the full semester.
- Ability to pass a background check and meet Baltimore County Public Schools clearance requirements.
- Reliable transportation to the assigned school.
Preferred:
- Background in physical education, recreation, or camp counseling.
- A coaching certification in any sport.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Experience with elementary or middle school students.
